Home base Gas station and Fleet solutions

Orpak provides a range of solutions addressing requirements at various levels for home base petrol stations from an isle controller embedded unit to a Web based large scale solution with advanced authorization and business models.

Three main packaging alternatives are available:

  • OrIC (Orpak Island Controller) – Rugged pedestal providing a complete isle solution accepting all possible payment means. This includes the SiteOmat, OrPT, optional printer and Vehicle Identification Terminal.

  • OrCU 3000 (Orpak Controller Unit) – sealed wall mount, metal box, a complete station automation system in one compact, durable box for internal or external installations. It interfaces with the forecourt devices, including dispensers, TLG, payment terminals and Nozzle Readers (for optional vehicle identification).

  • OrTC (Orpak Tanker  Controller) - sealed metal box for mobile tanker truck applications, the controller has been especially designed to address the heavy or stationary equipment refueling needs at the site. It is connected to the nozzle equipment on the tanker truck and controls the tanker's electric valve. The heavy or stationary equipment is identified by the VIU (Vehicle Identification Unit) component of FuelOmat or a driver contactless Tag. The controller on the truck is now capable of registering the amount of fuel dispensed from the tanker truck as well as dispensing the correct amount of fuel to the respective equipment. All data is automatically transferred via cellular modem to Fleet Head Office for reports and management.

At the heart of the range is the SiteOmat home base station automation software, which runs on an embedded operating system on the OrCU (Orpak Controller Unit) – an embedded platform designed to survive the harsh gas station environment. SiteOmat uses a solid state FLASH disk and battery back up protection, along with surge suppressors for transient and noise immunity.  There are no edge connectors and no hard disk (no moving parts), and the system also includes power fail recovery mechanisms.
SiteOmat electronically locks all dispensers and pumps thereby ensuring that only appropriately authorized vehicles and plants receive the required fuel and lubricants. The system also ensures accurate recording of each transaction.

Remote secured Web-based capabilities for monitoring, management and maintenance are used either locally or remotely (secured). This can be done from any standard PC with Internet Browser (Explorer). There is no need for special management software; thanks to the built-in Web server technology, which is integrated into the SiteOmat station controller, a large variety of communication links is supported – both wired and wireless.

Orpak's innovative FuelOmat Vehicle Identification System (VIS) is embedded in all Home Base solutions and enables advanced fleet management capabilities, increased efficiency and reduced operating costs for fleets.

For centralized management there is the optional Fleet Head Office server which consolidates the data from multiple sites and generates reports,, including exception reports. It also enables control of the limits and restrictions placed on the various fleet vehicles; authorized fleet personnel are able to log-in remotely and are always in control.

Control of a fleet’s fuel expenses can be maximized by defining limits (day, week, month), maximum number of refueling (day, week, month) and restrictions (days of the week, fuel type, stations, time intervals).
In cases of multiple site system configurations, centralized Fleet Head Office needs to synchronize the data between all sites so that the limits can be applied to a whole system rather than an individual site. In case of communication failure, the specific site will be able to refuel for a predefined grace period (parameter) using the most recent limits stored in its database.

SiteOmat Controls and interfaces with the following forecourt devices:

  • Pumps – All known dispensers including mechanical dispensers
  • Outdoor Payment terminals – Contact less Tags, Keys, Cards
  • Outdoor Printer
  • Vehicle Identification Transceiver (VIT or uVIT) to support the FuelOmat VIU system
  • WGT (wireless gateway terminal) to support the new Wireless FuelOmat
  • Audit Journal Printer
  • Tank Level System
  • Attendant/Driver contact less Tag readers
  • FortCom infrastructure – Orpak’s innovative Forecourt Communication based on TCP/IP Ethernet or Wireless and also RS-485, the system provides bridging between different communication links and also Secured Web remote capabilities for maintenance and diagnostics.

A flexible business logic is provided to support several operation modes such as self service, attendant tags, vehicle identification and auto-authorized mode.
